伦敦艺术大学校长 James Purnell 代表 UAL 就英国女王伊丽莎白二世去世发表声明如下：

今天，我谨代表伦敦艺术大学，对英国女王伊丽莎白二世的逝世表示沉痛的哀悼。在王室失去亲人的日子里，英国所有人民的思念和祈祷与他们同在。

女王的逝世也是我们国家的损失。我们失去了在位时间最长的君主，她以无私，优雅的方式与人们建立联系并为英国人民服务。

所有英国人民都会记得她以自我牺牲、责任、义务、包容和善良的品质所体现的象征和价值。

女王为英国服务了七十年之久。在这七十年里，她以不变的价值观见证着英国社会的变革。

就职于伦敦艺术大学，我们所从事的是公共服务，这正是我们必须始终追求的价值观，以为他人服务为最崇高的使命。

Today, we mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

It is a day of private loss for the Royal Family, and on behalf of UAL, I want to extend my condolences in their moment of grief - all our thoughts and prayers are with them.

It is a day of loss for our nation too. We have lost our longest-serving monarch; a living connection with the past who served us unselfishly with dignity and grace.

It is a day in which we are reminded of the values she embodied as a living symbol: self-sacrifice, responsibility, duty, decency, tolerance and kindness towards others.

The Queen served us for seventy years and, in that time, saw our society transformed. The values she embodied through those decades, however, remained the same.

For those of us in public service, these are the values we must always aspire towards: that there is no higher calling in life than to serve others.
